Terms of Service
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Via Texts ("Service," "we," "us," "our"). By linking a bank account, providing your phone number, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. The Service
Via Texts is an SMS-based personal finance tool. We connect to your bank account via Plaid, a third-party financial data provider, and send you text messages summarizing your spending activity — including a daily spending digest and a weekly roundup delivered by SMS. Via Texts does not offer a mobile app or web dashboard; the Service is delivered entirely through text message.
Via Texts does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Nothing in the Service constitutes a recommendation to take or avoid any specific financial action. You are solely responsible for your own financial decisions.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States to use Via Texts. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Account and Bank Linking
To use Via Texts, you must link a bank account through Plaid and provide a valid U.S. mobile phone number. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for maintaining the security of the bank account and device associated with your account.
You may unlink your bank account or delete your account at any time through the account management link sent in our text messages, or by contacting us directly.
4. SMS Messaging
By providing your phone number, you consent to receive recurring SMS messages from Via Texts, including a daily spending digest, a weekly roundup, and budget-related messages (spending suggestions, budget check-ins, and offer reminders). Message frequency varies based on your spending activity and account settings and is not limited to a fixed number of messages per day. Message and data rates may apply.
You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP. You may resume messages by replying START. Reply HELP for assistance. Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages.
By tapping "Connect your bank & start texting," you agree to receive recurring automated text messages (including daily spending digests, weekly spending summaries, and budget alerts) from Via Texts at the number provided. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.

5. Fees
Via Texts is currently offered free of charge during the founding cohort period. We will provide advance notice through the Service before introducing any fees or paid subscription tiers.
6. Third-Party Services
Via Texts relies on third-party providers, including Plaid (bank data) and Twilio (SMS delivery), to operate the Service. We are not responsible for outages, errors, or data issues originating from these third-party providers, though we will make reasonable efforts to resolve issues affecting the Service.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that spending summaries will be complete, accurate, or delivered without delay or interruption.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Via Texts and its founders/operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to financial decisions made based on information provided by the Service.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, including for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time by unlinking your bank account and replying STOP to opt out of messages.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service (including by SMS) or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles.
